Co-curating the newly-improved Chevalier Jackson Foreign Body exhibit with Anna Dhody, Curator of the Mütter Museum
Since writing Swallow, I’ve happily served as a research consultant, copy writer, and contributor to the re-furbished foreign body exhibit in Philadelphia’s Mütter Museum. In addition to gaining a new cabinet (the objects were more vulnerable in the old cabinet which was also in disrepair), the foreign body objects in the Jackson collection now enjoy a fuller contextualization that includes examples of Jackson’s instruments; his medical illustrations; the case study documenting his most difficult case, and more.
